Windows Media Player on the fritz

I am having trouble with Windows Media Player. When I click on a file I
wish to view, and Media Player comes up, I see a rainbow colored distorted
image being played, instead of a clear animation. How can I correct this?

I have no idea; I don't use Windows or Windows Media Player. Since no
one has been able to post assistance here, try using
<http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search?hl=en> and search for
posts that contain "Windows Media Player". That should give you a list
of groups where the program is discussed, and someone there may be able
to help.
